Timothée Chalamet, Robert Pattinson, Joel Edgerton, Lily-Rose Depp, Ben Mendelsohn, Sean Harris
In fifteenth century England, a young Prince is taking his reluctant place on the English throne following the death of his tyrannical father. Based on Shakespeare’s Henriad of plays, The King follows Prince Hal’s (Timothée Chalamet) transformation from a distracted prince to a disinclined king, in an enduring battle of palace politics, reigning chaos and imminent war. Co-written and directed by David Michôd (War Machine, Animal Kingdom, The Rover), with an appearance from Robert Pattinson as the Dauphin of France, this historical drama promises moody scenery, large scale international conflicts and intensely brooding frustration from its leading man.
