We are excited to announce the Belmont Young Programmers Film Festival! In celebration of 2018 being Year of Young People, our Young Programmers have been working hard watching lots of amazing teen and coming of age movies for the last few months, and have curated a selection of some of the best, the weirdest, the funniest, and must see films for you all to enjoy here at Belmont Filmhouse!

It wasn’t an easy task to whittle our huge list of films down to just four, but after a lot of deliberation we have chosen these. They are drawn from across various eras and cultures, but all of them are perfect examples of teenage life – exploring issues such as coming of age, fitting in, peer pressure, first loves, rebellion, teen angst and alienation.

As a wise young man once said “Life moves pretty fast, if you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” This is exactly what the best films allow us to do, and these films are no exception.

We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
