The board of trustees of the CMI is looking to recruit a new chair.
The CMI is Scotland’s leading film charity and currently incorporates Filmhouse Cinema and Café Bar in Edinburgh, the Edinburgh International Film Festival, and the Belmont Filmhouse in Aberdeen.
Our vision is to use film in all its guises to transform people’s lives – through the watching, making and understanding of film. We’re aiming to increase the range and quality of opportunities for a wider range of people to be inspired by and engage with film and the moving image, centred on artistic quality and excellence, genuine inclusivity and delivered in an environmentally sustainable way.
As a leader in its field, we work to positively challenge, take risks, and believe in the independence of voice and genuine choice for audiences.
300,000 people come through our doors each year to be inspired, excited and challenged by the films we show, the learning, community engagement and talent development opportunities we provide, and the festivals and special seasons we host, including EIFF.
The new Chair will lead the board and support the executive deliver against the organisation’s vision, purpose and values over the next four years.
As an experienced leader of people you should also have experience and gravitas at Board level and across business networks. We are an arts based organisation and it is expected that the new Chair would have a keen interest or experience in one or more aspects of the arts, ideally film and the moving image.
