Access for Patrons with disabilities

This page explains the current facilities for people with disabilities and is intended to assist you in planning your visit.

Advance Booking
Advance booking by telephone, post, fax, the internet or through a friend is always a good idea so that our staff can readily provide assistance if required. All the seating for our performances are unallocated. However, we will be pleased at any time to reserve wheelchair spaces or seats for any particular part of the auditorium if this is helpful.

Customers with limited mobility
All areas of the building are accessible to customers with limited mobility, including wheelchair users. There is a lift in the main foyer that serves all floors and the basement bar and cafe.

Disabled Parking
Setting down is best organised by drawing alongside the cinema in Belmont Street. Blue Badge Holders are permitted to park on Little Belmont Street.

Wheelchair Spaces
We have three screens, seating 272, 146 and 65 people. Screen 1 has a choice of six wheelchair spaces in rows N and P at the rear of the auditorium, Screen 2 has ten wheelchair spaces at the front of the auditorium and Screen 3 has five wheelchair spaces at the front of the auditorium.

Guide Dogs
Guide dogs are welcome at The Belmont, Aberdeen. If you wish to take your dog into a performance, please inform us at the time of booking so that we can arrange an aisle seat. Alternatively, your dog can be cared for by a member of staff for the duration of the performance. Our staff will be happy to provide drinking water for your dog.

Toilets
The main customer toilets, which include a fully accessible separate toilet, are in the basement. There is an additional toilet for people with disabilities on every floor. Each contains an emergency callpoint should you need to summon assistance.

Telephone
If required, staff will be happy to call a taxi for you.

Assisted Hearing Facilities
There are induction loop facilities in the box office and infra-red facilities in all three screens. A small deposit will be required to borrow the headsets, which are available from the box office.

Certain performances carry sub-titles and these are clearly indicated in the programme.

Carer Card Scheme
All the seating for our performances are unallocated. However, we will be pleased at any time to reserve wheelchair spaces or seats for any particular part of the auditorium if this is helpful. If you need to bring along a helper to assist you in any way, then they will receive a complimentary ticket.
